About Me
"Hello, I'm Chan — Artisan jeweller and heart-led creator behind Wings Memorial Jewellery.
I believe that memorial jewellery is more than an accessory; it is a vessel for a soul's story. Working from my studio within The Spa Retreat in Northants, I combine artisan resin techniques with Reiki healing to ensure every piece I create is a source of peace & healing for those who wear it."
From the High Street to the Heart
For years, I owned a traditional jewellers shop on the High Street, but my path changed forever when I lost my Nan, Rae. I wanted a way to keep her close, but I couldn't bear the thought of sending her ashes away through the post to a faceless factory.
I decided then that she would stay with me. I sat at my bench and made a locket myself, infusing her ashes into a piece I could wear every day. That locket was the beginning of Wings. I realised that if I felt this need for personal care and proximity, others must too. When I closed my shop, I chose to dedicate my craft entirely to memorial jewellery—because a piece that holds a soul is the most meaningful work a jeweller can do.
The Story Behind The Name
After I had made my first memorial piece, I began to find feathers in the most unexpected places—tucked into my doorway, resting on my workbench, or appearing on my path. I shared these moments with my sister, and as we sat together, she was the one who gave the signs their name. She told me, "They are souls who have finally gained their wings."
In that moment, I knew I had to make this my vocation.
Even now, those feathers continue to find me. They have become a sacred part of my process. If I find a feather while I am crafting a specific memorial stone or during a consultation with a family, I believe it is a message meant specifically for them. I always make sure to gift that feather to the person I am working for—a final, tangible sign from their loved one to accompany their jewellery home.
Hand Setting at The Reclamation Bureau
Today, I have traded the busy High Street for the quieter surroundings of Knuston Home Farm. My studio is centred around a vintage bureau I rescued from a local reclamation yard; I fell in love with it and today, it is where every memorial stone is hand-cast.
My process is slow, intentional, and entirely personal. As a professional jeweller, I specialise in setting these precious stones into hallmarked Sterling Silver, 9ct and 18ct Gold, and bespoke Diamond-set pieces.
You can also choose from a selection of premium chains, to make your heirloom pendant or bracelet a truly bespoke piece.
There are no middle-men here; from the moment you trust me with your loved one's ashes, they never leave my care.
Because They Are Family, Too
My love for what I do also extends to our loyal companions. This is me with my beloved dog, Anu. As an animal lover, I understand that the bond we share with our pets is life-changing—they are members of the family who leave the biggest paw prints on our hearts.
I apply the same meticulous care and reverence to pet memorial pieces as I do for every other commission. Whether it is a lock of hair or ashes, I ensure your faithful friend is remembered with a tribute that is as beautiful and lasting as the love you shared.
A Seat at Rae's Tea Room
I understand that choosing memorial jewellery is an emotional journey that shouldn't be rushed. That is why I invite my clients to meet me for a private consultation at Knuston Home Farm.
We meet in the vintage surroundings of Rae’s Tea Room. My Nan always dreamed of opening her own tea room but never got the chance; today, my sister has made that dream a reality. It feels only right that we sit in her space, over a cup of tea, to discuss your design. It is a quiet, private time for you to share your stories and for us to ensure the tribute we create is as special as the person it honours.
I look forward to welcoming you here.
